An impressive number of nearly 7 million reconstructive surgeries took place in 2020. Per capita, Brazil ranks first for plastic surgery, followed by Argentina, Colombia and Italy. During the 2020 pandemic, people on the other side of the map decided with work-from-home orders, why not get a little nip, pullback, and injections. The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery agrees that the pandemic has increased surgeries, in fact by 10%, although I thought the numbers were higher. According to ASAPS, patients between the ages of 35 and 50 underwent the most procedures, accounting for up to 43% of the total surgeries performed.
